Here's what I know today.....
1. Kotzebue, Alaska is one of the windiest places I've ever been. As soon as I stepped off the airplane, the wind blew me 20 feet as I slid across the icy tarmac. For once I had grace & balance. Fun!
2. There are actually small trees here, willows. I expected none.
3. The 2 restaurants in town are both Korean.
4. I learned some Inupiaq while laying in bed this morning, through the paper thin walls of the hotel.
5. The sun rose at 11:56 am, with 8 minutes less daylight than yesterday.
6. Sled dogs above the arctic circle are just as sweet & loving as those below the circle.
